Addiction to drugs and or alcohol is now more commonly referred to as Substance Use Disorder or SUD. A person struggles with an addiction when the recurrent use of alcohol and/or drugs causes significant impairment; including causing health problems, negative personal and legal consequences, disability, and failure to meet major responsibilities at work, school and or at home. Treatment for substance abuse, fortunately, has become easier to access and pay for than its former reputation suggests throughout the state of New York and Babylon NY.
