Intervention

Is someone you love in denial about their alcohol or drug addiction? In many cases, the individual with the substance abuse or alcohol problem doesn’t realize the severity of their condition, and they can be incomplete or partial denial. Setting up an intervention can help the individual realize the impact that their substance use disorder is causing on themselves and those around them. Our interventions are hosted face to face with a professional counselor and family members and friends. The goal of the intervention is education and to help the individual realize that they need to enter into either an outpatient or inpatient treatment center in order to detox, heal and learn how to lead a sober life.

Detox

Detox is the first step in the recovery process, and it is the most critical. This is where the individual stops taking their drug of choice or abstains from alcohol consumption. Over the course of the next three to 14 days, the substance leaves their body. We offer detox for a variety of legal and illicit substances. Additionally, if you’ve been through an MAT detox and prior drug rehab treatment and are having trouble weening off of Methadone or Suboxone, we provide services that can help you get off of your MAT therapies.

Inpatient

Inpatient treatment works well for those who want to avoid triggers and temptation early in treatment. During this type of treatment, the individual will live at the facility and receive drug and/or alcohol detox and healing therapies to help them learn new ways of dealing with stress and daily life in a productive and healthy manner as well as how to avoid relapses in the future. Our inpatient treatment options focus on various types of therapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal-behavioral therapy, dual diagnosis for those suffering from mental illness and addiction, group therapy and individual counseling. Our drug rehab treatment center also offers holistic treatments, which are natural treatment options that help your body heal itself. These include yoga, acupuncture, meditation and massage therapy. Additional treatment options include treatment for individuals who identify as LGBT, teletherapy, sober coaches and partial hospitalization.

Outpatient

Outpatient treatment involves coming to the treatment center several days a week for several hours in order to receive treatment. Once the treatment day is complete, the individual will go home in the evening to eat dinner and sleep. This works well for individuals who have school, family and work obligations. Our outpatient services include regular outpatient and intensive outpatient. Our outpatient program for drug and alcohol use is great for individuals who have never been in treatment and haven’t been addicted very long. This treatment usually meets a couple of times a week for a few hours. For those who need more treatment than the standard program provides or have just completed our inpatient program, we also offer intensive outpatient treatment, which meets multiple times a week for about three hours.

Partial Hospitalization

Partial hospitalization is an intensive outpatient program that may also be called day treatment, and it’s exactly how it sounds. People go to treatment during the day. Partial hospitalization or day treatment is often recommended for those who need advanced rehabilitation services for their substance use disorder but cannot go to inpatient rehab due to certain obligations or financial reasons. This option involves visiting the center between five and seven days a week for several hours each day.

Sober Living Homes

Sober living homes can be the initial treatment or a stage in the recovery process. For those who need it as an initial treatment option, it is similar to intensive outpatient treatment in that individuals receive therapy and treatment at a nearby treatment center while learning how to live independently and without the aid of illicit substances. Individuals in these programs pay rent and hold part-time jobs.

What Are the Benefits of Receiving Drug and Alcohol Treatment

Queens, New York
While it may be tempting to quit using drugs or alcohol on your own, it’s not typically advisable. This is because stopping the use of your drug of choice can lead to withdrawal symptoms, and some of those symptoms can be dangerous, especially if you’re addicted to opiates or alcohol. There’s also a lower chance of long-term success with DIY drug treatment. Getting inpatient or outpatient treatment at a licensed drug rehab center in New York means that you’ll get professional treatment from staff members that understand addiction and how it works on the brain and body. You’ll also learn new coping mechanisms and the signs of an impending relapse. You’ll also be given access to sober coaches and sober companions as well as aftercare options that can help you make the switch from treatment to living independently in a healthy and productive manner.

How Long Do I have to Stay in Drug Rehab Treatment in Queens, New York?

It’s important to understand that substance use disorder is a chronic illness, and like a chronic illness, you’ll be taught how to bring the condition under control, manage it and prevent relapses. Initial treatment can take anywhere from 30 days to more than a year. The initial detox stage can take anywhere from three days to two weeks. During that time, you’ll also receive therapy and be able to participate in holistic treatment options, like acupuncture and massage therapy, which can help alleviate general soreness so that you feel better. Once you detox, you’ll continue with various types of therapy and holistic treatment options. If you start as an inpatient, you may move to outpatient treatment or partial hospitalization. From there, you may choose to go to a sober living home before finally returning to your home or getting an apartment and living on your own. The good news is that treatment is tailored for you so that you have the best chance at long-term success.

What Can I Bring with Me to Drug Rehab Treatment?

What you can bring with you to treatment, depends on your program. If you’re entering inpatient treatment, bring clothes that are comfortable, not revealing, and that do not contain profanity. Bring unopened toiletries that do not contain alcohol, important documents and prescription medications. You can also bring notebooks and pens for writing down notes and journaling. You should never bring expensive items, including electronics, alcohol or drugs, medications that are not approved by the facility, or weapons. Once you enter treatment, you’ll be given a list of items you can bring and items that are not appropriate for the treatment center.
